For the last 27 years, the Thakore Charitable Foundation, the Institute for the Humanities at SFU, and the JS Woodsworth Chair in the Humanities at SFU have been planning an event on October 2nd to commemorate Gandhiji and acknowledge humanitarians across the world. These individuals have used Gandhiji’s principles to make the world a better and more peaceful place.
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth, the Gandhi Youth Committee hosted a one day summer event for youth to learn about the core principles that Gandhiji preached. We wanted to encourage our youth today to carry forward Gandhiji’s legacy by teaching mindfulness, peace, kindness, self-sufficiency, and community service through interactive and engaging activities.
The camp was held on Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 9:30am to 3:30pm at the Charles Rummel Recreation Centre in Burnaby, BC for children aged 6 to 13. Email us at email@example.com for more information.
