Mahatma Gandhi lived his life by the highest moral and ethical principles of truth, justice, non-violence, love and respect for people of all backgrounds.
To achieve this vision the Gandhi Jayanti Committee will:
- Honour a person or an organization that has put in practice the principles of truth, non-violence, service to society, promotion of peace and harmony, improving the environment and/or living condition in a country or a community via the Thakore Visiting Scholar Award
- Make people aware of the contributions of Mahatma Gandhi and promote his lifestyle of service to humanity and universal love
- Participate in activities that promote peace, non-violence, and unity among different communities
